 My recent book, What Really Helps: Using Mindfulness & Compassionate Presence to Help, Support, and Encourage Others, is written for anyone who wants to be of help to friends, family, clients, customers or even strangers. Beginning with the understanding that when we offer help, the most valuable thing we can give is our genuine, caring presence.  The book shows how we can cultivate mindfulness and compassion toward ourselves and toward others.

What Really Helps is a re-issue of my 1996 first book, How to Be a Help Instead of a Nuisance. It is even more relevant today when there is a greater understanding of the need for compassionate presence.   It has a new Foreword by David Richo, a new Preface by me, and a new cover.
